NEWS FROM TRAVELINK-AMERICAN EXPRESS & CLARKSVILLE TRAVEL AND TOURS

Clarksville Travel & Tours Joins Travelink-American Express Network:
Lynn Ford Becomes First American Express Travel Representative in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (October 26, 2005) --- Clarksville Travel and Tours, operated by Lynn Ford, Certified Travel Counselor (CTC), has merged with Travelink, the only full-service American Express Travel Agency in Middle Tennessee, announced Linda Raymer, president of Travelink’s Vacation Division, headquartered in Nashville.

A 17-year travel industry veteran, Ford established Clarksville Travel and Tours in 1996 and provides professional travel planning and booking services to more than 1,000 business and vacation travelers in the Clarksville area. Ford said the merger with Travelink-American Express will give her business and vacation customers access to a dramatically larger scope of travel benefits and services, and American Express card membership is not required.

“I decided to merge my company with Travelink because it allows me to continue to grow my business with the added strength and stability of American Express, which is the largest and most established travel agency in the world,” said Ford. “With the tremendous buying power of Travelink-American Express, I can offer all my customers special pricing and amenities on countless travel packages, including cruises and vacations to destinations across the globe. This affiliation also allows me to serve my clients’ growing business travel, group travel and meeting planning needs with the support of a tremendous team of colleagues in our Nashville offices. And, I will be able to serve a new group of customers – American Express cardmembers who want to use their annual travel benefit and gain membership miles on vacation packages.”

Ford will relocate her current office on Madison Street to a “virtual office” in Clarksville that is linked to all of Travelink’s systems and resources. Ford’s telephone and web site contact information will remain the same.

According to Raymer, Travelink wanted to establish a presence in the Clarksville market and approached Ford about joining forces with the regional travel management firm. “We are very familiar with the Clarksville market, because we have had a relationship with Jack Turner and Associates for more than a decade, and we’ve viewed the growing travel market here with great interest,” said Raymer.

“Lynn Ford has built a top travel agency offering outstanding customer service, which means that she and her company are a great fit for Travelink,” said Raymer. “Voted Clarksville’s Best Travel Agency for five consecutive years at the annual Best of Clarksville event, Lynn and Clarksville Travel and Tours gained a well-earned reputation for travel professionalism. In fact, Lynn is the only Certified Travel Consultant in Clarksville. We are delighted to welcome her to our firm.”

Ford moved to Clarksville in the mid-1990s and formed Clarksville Travel and Tours in 1996. Originally from Alabama, Ford and her husband, Tom Ford, a fireman for the City of Clarksville, have four children. Ford is an active member of the International Association of Travel Agents Network, the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce and the March of Dimes event committee.
